Manorama Singh D/O R N Singh was a student of CHIJ St. Joseph's Convent from 2005 to 2008.


PERSONAL QUALITIES

Possessing an inquisitive mind, Manorama pursued her studies with determination and diligence. She is a self-motivated learner and strives to excel academically.

Manorama is a fluent and confident speaker who expresses herself well. She displays competence in communication and interpersonal skills and is able to capture the attention of her audience during her oral presentations. She exudes a friendly and composed disposition and displays immense passion in everything she wishes to pursue. She is independent but is also able to play the role of an excellent team player. She takes her duties seriously and executes diem with pride and eagerness. She completes every task assigned to her to the best of her ability. She is seen actively participating in class activities. She was awarded the Most Gracious student in 2006. She also received the 2007 Singapore Kindness Movement Bronze Award.

Manorama's potential has been identified in the area of leadership where she has developed herself well. Her strong leadership potential was first discovered when she assumed an appointment as a Secondary 1 Class Monitor. She was subsequently short-listed as a potential candidate for the school's Student Council. Within her first year in the council, she was appointed as an Executive Member, holding the position of Head of Department (Welfare). She was appointed as the President of the Student Council in 2007 in view of her strong leadership quality and organisation skills. During her office term, she took on the responsibility of organising die 2008 Secondary 1 Orientation Camp as a competent Camp Coordinator. The other major events which she successfully planned and organised included Teacher's Day 2007 and a school-based fund raising project.

Manorama was a member of the school's Netball Team from 2005 to 2006 and Publications & Media Club from 2007 to 2008. She represented the school and participated enthusiastically in Netball carnival 2005 and Pesta Sukan Inter-School Competition in 2005 and 2006. She also showed interest in debate and represented the school in die Arena Inter-School Debate competition 2008, emerging as the top 12 finalists. She is supportive of class activities where she participated actively in the Inter-Class Flag Relay in 2008.

Manorama contributed selflessly to the community and the school by volunteering her service at die National Trade Union Congress Childcare Centre (2005), The Salvation Army (2006), Sunlove Home and the Lion's Befriender (Elderly) Infant Jesus Missions Home in 2007. She also participated in the 2007 National Day Parade and saving the Environment project in 2008.

With her leadership capability and determination to succeed, Manorama has the potential to excel in her future undertakings and will be a valuable asset to any institution.
